The basic function of ExAb is to expand shortcuts into full text. E.g. type adr, hit the hotkey and get:
Huub Linthorst
Ank van der Moerstraat 70
2331 HS Leiden
The Netherlands
However, over the years many other functions have been added to arrive at today's versatile text manipulation suite.
ExAb stores your definitions in a database. By positioning the cursor at the end of an abbreviation and hitting the hotkey, ExAb searches the database and, if found, expands the abbreviation. If not found, ExAb enables you to add a new entry to the database.
In addition, ExAb recognizes email and internet web addresses and opens the Email or Web program when installed on your Psion. Furthermore, exabbing on filenames opens the corresponding document or program, while exabbing the name of a macro runs the macro. ExAb recognizes equations and offers to paste the result.
