After much experimentation and help from Kevin Snelling, I finally have an internet connection for my Mako through the infrared internal modem on my Nokia 3360. At 9600 baud, Opera is not very useful but the Mako email programme works like a charm.Since the Nokia 3360 is widely distributed in Canada and the US for use on the Rogers and AT&T TDMA telephone networks, I would like to pass on the settings. I have long been envious of the European wireless telephone GSM networks and am pleased to have a workable TDMA alternative to use with my Mako.
Anyway, the settings are:
Speed = 19200 baud
Connect via = infrared
Fax Class = auto
Loudspeaker in use = Never
Volume = Quiet
Pause time for "," = 4 seconds
Init. (reset) string = ATZ
Data init. string = none
Fax init. string = none
Flow Control = Software (XON/XOFF)
Terminal Detect (DSR/DTR) = unchecked
Carrier Detect (DCD) = unchecked
Modem Type = Fixed Line
Unfortunately, presumably because of the fixed line setting, the SMS connection does not work with this setting. However, I am still pleased to have a wireless email connection to my Mako.
If anyone figures out how to get the SMS routines in the Mako/Revo email programme to work, please post it and let me know how you did it!
