Hello Art,

You already got some answers about CF Cards. I personally use a card purchased through New World Technologies (www.nwt.com). This card has worked with my original S5 and my MC218 with out incident. As for other cards, unfortunately, there is not comprehensive list of compatible CF cards for the 5mx/MC218. My suggestion to you, is to purchase one that claims to be compatible with the 5mx or MC218 and make sure that they have a good return policy in case it does not work.

Backups,

Are you refering to backing up to the CF card?

I do not think that there are any backup utilities for EPOC, but there are Macro utilities that would allow you to create your own very easily (in fact, there may be other users out there who have already done this and would be more than willing to give you a copy of their macro).

If you are talking about backing up to a PC, the software supplied with the MC218 would be almost identical to the software supplied with your Mako. You will find no difference in the ability to backup you MC218 to the desktop than you had with your Mako.

Cheers,

Mark Kenepp
