Millions of Ads Served to iPhones

By James Alan Miller
September 9, 2008

In partnership with over 1,000 mobile sites - such as AccuWeather and MovieTickets.com - AdMob's been serving ads to iPhones for a month now. And yet, according to a report on MobileMarketingToday, it has served - somewhat incredibly - over 35 million of them. Meanwhile, rival mobile ad network Quarttro Wireless is partnering with uLocate (the developer behind the GPS-enabled WHERE application) on a marketing initiative to target iPhone users as well. By combining Quarttro's advertising knowhow with WHERE's location-based capabilities, the companies say they can deliver iPhone ads in applications based on contextual, demographic, behavioral and location data.
