With some BlackBerry models, including various Pearls and even the Curve, the phone seems to drop the call history and/or text messages when it gets low on memory. There are a few ways to prevent this from happening:

  •  
  • Periodically do a soft reset of your device by taking out the battery,
  •  
  • Reduce the amount of memory in use by removing applications you don't use, deleting email you don't need to save or eliminating big files such as mp3s (including ringtones), photos and videos,
  •  
  • Use a microSD chip to store your large files so they aren't resident on the phone itself. and/or text messages when it gets low on memory. There are a few ways to prevent this from happening:
