Tip: Windows Mobile - What to Do When XV6800 Screen Goes Blank

Every so often—not frequently enough to merit a call to tech support—the screen on our Verizon XV6800 goes blank. The battery is charged and it's not shutting down to save power.

The obvious resolutions don't work either: tap the on/off button to put it in Stand-by and then turn it on, hold in the on/off to completely shut it down, plug into charger. Nada.

But, flip it over, remove the battery, wait a few seconds and then put the whole thing back together and then—presto! You press on/off to turn the unit on, it vibrates the start-up vibration and seconds later the Verizon and Windows Mobile screens flash before your eyes.

This is and easy and quick fix to a frustrating and elusive problem.
