I wouldn't call it low end
I have had a Palm Centro for about a month now, and I'm very impressed with everything it can do. I got mine from Verizon. The Palm OS is very intuitive, therefore easy to use. With the Centro, you get Google Maps. One of the nice features is when you are scrolling contacts, you can map the location right from the contact section of the phone. Of course it has all the other Palm applications such as calendar, memos, tasks, all integrated nicely into the smart phone.
I have had Palm products for over 10 years and, honestly, I was reluctant to get the Centro because everyone seems to be so critical of Palm. I was leaning toward the Blackberry Curve. However, after reading user reviews, I decided to go with the Centro for two reasons: 1) I already knew and liked the Palm operating system and 2) I could opt out of the data package with Palm, but not Blackberry ($30/month from Verizon). I got the Centro with unlimited e-mail and web. I've got two e-mail accounts set up on the Centro and they work perfectly. Web access is nice and a lot faster than it was with Mobile Web on my LGVX8350. Overall I'm quite happy with the Palm Centro and would recommend it.
