By James Alan Miller
Astraware's just released Bubble Babble, a new word game for Palm OS and Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs. The "undersea bubble-bursting brain teaser" requires you link together letter bubbles to form words.
Players score points for each word they make. There are four play modes: Challenge - create a set number of words against the clock; Target - reconstruct the separated word from the letter bubbles; Mystery - try different permutations of letters to find the hidden word; and Freeplay. The $19.95 game is currently on sale for $19.95. In related news, Handmark, which now owns Astraware, announced plans to develop a variety of games and applications for the iPhone at the 2008 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. “Handmark has an unmatched level of experience and expertise in developing top-quality games and applications for nearly all of the leading mobile platforms in the market today,” asserted Handmark CEO Paul Reddick in statement. “As new mobile platforms successfully emerge, like the iPhone, we view it as a great opportunity to expand our licensed titles and help others develop their titles for a new mobile audience.” Astraware started developing games for the iPod back in 2006. And Handmark says it'll play an integral part in the development of various game titles for the iPhone as well. Related Links:
