By James Alan Miller
The software allows users to record transactions, track account balances, generate reports and budgets, and manage finances form their smartphone. You can also assign icons to help you better identify different types of transactions, filter transactions, and perform bank account reconciliation. You can use the program as a stand-alone application on a handheld or Windows desktop and it is supposed to be optimized for two-way synchronization between the two. So changes made to both mobile and desktop versions are retained and merged into one up-to-date file upon synchronization. SplashMoney supports most account types, including checking, savings, credit card, cash, asset, liability, and money market accounts. For security, there's password protection using 256-bit Blowfish encryption. Although SplashMoney sells for $29.95 by itself, it is available as part of the SplashData's SplashWallet Suite, which also includes SplashData's SplashID, SplashPhoto and SplashShopper applications.
