PhoneFusion Betas Visual Voicemail for Android Smartphones

By James Alan Miller
November 24, 2008

PhoneFusion today rolled out a beta version its Fusion Voicemail Plus solution for Android smartphones, of which the T-Mobile G1 is the only model available so far, of course. It previewed the visual voicemail application a couple of weeks ago at the Under the Radar: Mobility event.

Fusion Voicemail Plus, already available for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry, allows users to centralize all of their voicemail boxes (e.g. home, work and mobile) and see - right on the screen - a list of their voicemail messages in one place. The service also allows users to listen to their voicemails directly from their smartphone, and can display Caller ID Name on each voicemail, even if the information isn't already saved in the users' phonebooks.

PhoneFusion released the beta of Fusion Voicemail Plus earlier than expected. It originally said the service would be available Android phones by the end of the year.

"After previewing Fusion Voicemail Plus for Android smartphones, we received an overwhelming amount of interest from the Android community," said PhoneFusion CEO Louis Libin in a statement. "Our PhoneFusion development team has worked around-the-clock to get a beta version of the application ready for use."

Libin added, "Stay tuned as we will continue roll out additional functionality in the next few weeks, showing PhoneFusion's commitment to enhancing the user experience beyond a mobile device's limits."
