Wal-Mart may not be the first place you think of when you've got smartphone's on your mind, but that isn't stopping T-Mobile from giving the retail giant a shot at hawking the first Google Android-run handset, the G1.

Wal-Mart started selling the T-Mobile G1 yesterday. Not only that, if you choose to buy at G1 at Wal-Mart rather than through T-Mobile, you'll be able to do so at a only $149. That's a 17 percent discount off of the $180 T-Mobile's asking for the G1.

Both Wal-Mart and T-Mobile's prices for the G1 are for those who qualify and with a two-year contract.
