Nokia's uber smartphone, the N95 GB, sports a number features absent from some of its competitors, including Apple's iPhone. You can now add full YouTube support in its S60-based Web browser to the list.

Headlining the latest firmware update, v15.0.015, for the Symbian-run handset is a plug-in for Adobe's Flash Lite 3, which is said to be fully compatible with the version of Flash used for the PC. The update also adds support for Web Run Time engine (for Widgets) and speed increases in overall performance.

Flash Lite makes the N95's YouTube support far more comprehensive than even the iPhone's, and it allows N95 users to view Flash-based video and animations posted to most any site within its browser.

While the iPhone delivers an excellent Web experience, because it doesn't support Flash, it is missing a key component of today's Internet. For YouTube, instead of Flash Lite 3 and its Safari browser, the iPhone relies on a standalone application and a proprietary video.

So before you get a chance to watch a YouTube video on the iPhone, it must be converted from the mega video-stie's native Flash format to the one compatible with the iPhone.

A couple of months ago, Nokia started the worldwide rollout of N95 8GB . Unfortunately, unlike the standard edition of the N95, it isn't compatible with all the cellular-wireless bands—particularly in the UMTS/HSDPA 3G realm—that would make that handset especially useful to North American users.

According to the Internet rumor mill, this may change by the middle of February, when Nokia is expected to release U.S.-friendly version of the Nokia N95 8GB
