By James Alan Miller
Unfortunately, while this update will be made available to carrier Hutchison 3's customers in Australia by the middle of August, the rest of the world, including those in the U.S., will have to wait until September for their go at it. When Palm and AT&T, the mobile operator that offers the smartphone in the U.S., makes the Windows Mobile 6 download available here, it should cost Treo 750 users nothing to download and install. As it has for smartphones that have already received their platform upgrades (i.e. the T-Mobile Dahs), Windows Mobile 6 should deliver much-improved Mobile Office Applications, support for HTML-formatted e-mail messages, as well as better-performance overall, among other enhancements to the Treo 750. There should also be a number of AT&T-specific improvements and add-ons. As we've reported before, it's been many months since Microsoft introduced Windows Mobile 6. As a result, folks have gotten antsy, leading them to try unofficial updates, such as one recently leaked for the Treo 750, as well as the Samsung BlackJack and 8525, which are also offered by AT&T.
