Just because AT&T hasn't officially released Windows Mobile 6 upgrades for its three major Windows Mobile smartphonesthe 8525, Samsung BlackJack, and Palm Treo 750it doesn't mean you can't actually attempt to install Microsoft's latest mobile-device platform on those Windows Mobile 5-run smartphones...That is if your willing to take a risk. As with the 8525 and BlackJack already, what appears to be a beta version of the Windows Mobile 6 update for the Treo 750 is making its way around the Web. You can find a link to it at XDA-developers forums. Windows Mobile 6 should deliver much-improved Mobile Office Applications, support for HTML-formatted e-mail messages, as well as a better-performance overall, among other enhancements. There should also be a number of AT&T-specific improvements and add-ons. When Microsoft introduced Windows Mobile 6, AT&T announced it would deliver downloadable updates to the platform to subscribers who own these smartphones. Folks have gotten antsy because not one of these has become available yet; leading them to try unofficial updates like the ones that have shown up already.
Let’s hope these leaks of Windows Mobile 6 updates for its smartphones leads AT&T to release official ones soon.
