Late last year E-TEN introduced the Goldfish X500—at a mere 15.5, millimeters (0.6 inches), perhaps the world's thinnest Pocket PC Phone. Today, the company unveiled the follow up to this smartphone, the aptly named Goldfish X500+

Although the X500+ looks a lot like its predecessor, the new model sports a higher-resolution VGA (640 x 480) touch display and Windows Mobile 6—as opposed to a QVGA (240 x 320) screen and Windows Mobile 5—while maintaining the earlier model's ultra-slim form factor and size—113.5 x 60.5 x 15.5 millimeters (4.5 x 2.4 x 15.5 inches).

There's a 2-magapixel camera for picture and video like with the earlier model. And, as with the X500, the X500+ may not include 3G cellular-data networking. We won’t know for sure until E-TEN discloses more information about the X500+.

Because of a new naming convention Microsoft developed for its platform upgrade, the X500+ will be known as a Windows Mobile Professional device and not a Pocket PC Phone. .

Here's what else is available in the X500 to give you an idea of what else the might X500+ have:

The X500 features GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 128 MB of ROM, 64 MB of ROM, a 400 MHz Samsung processor, and a microSD slot. It’s a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/EDGE smartphone with 1,530 mAh Lithium Polymer battery that specs out for 5 to 7 hours talk or 150 to 200 hours standby time.

We'll report more details on the X500+, including where and when the X500+ will ship and for how much, as they come to light.
