By James Alan Miller
The long-awaited and free update to Microsoft’s latest operator system for smartphones and handhelds is due to become available for the carrier's Dash customers tomorrow. You'll be able to download it directly from T-Mobile's Web site. Starting in June, T-Mobile plans to start shipping the Dash with Windows Mobile 6 pre-installed. The Windows Mobile 6 upgrade new features such as more reliable e-mail delivery, support for HTML formatted messages, a better roaming and browsing performance, and easier device management. It also allows Windows Smartphones, such as the Dash, to not just view but edit Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) documents for the first time. The update also brings Windows Live services, such as Windows Live Messenger, to the handset. For more on the Dash, see our review. See links below for more on Windows Mobile 6.
