LobsterTunes is a new MP3 player Electric Pocket that provides over-the-air access to music stored on a PC to a Pocket PC.

According to Electric Pocket, LobsterTunes is designed so users do not need to plan their music listening before they leave home, by offering wireless full access to their entire non-DRM encrypted music collection.

When launched on the Pocket PC, LobsterTunes immediately goes online via a Wi-Fi or 3G (EV-DO or UTMS) and connects to music folders stored the desktop. Users can then browse the music library and build a playlist of the tracks they want to hear.

Once the first file is downloaded and begins playing on the Pocket PC, the application automatically starts streaming additional tracks in the playlist. With this feature users don’t have to wait for new music to download or deal with drop-outs when the wireless connection is broken, the company asserts.

As an MP3 player, LobsterTunes allows user to Shuffle and Repeat tracks, for example, and includes Electric Pocket's QuickMix application, which enables users to quickly create a random playlist at the press of a button.

Electric Pocket sells LobsterTunes for $19.95. You can access a demo version of LobsterTunes here, at our Free Downloads section.
