Volume Strip
The main reason I upgraded was to have better control on the volume strip. It works much better!

I also found the live search feature great for maps and finding places by category in various cities.

Other than that, not much difference. I wish I did not have to lock the phone all the time, when I have in my pocket, I am butt dialing all the time... Could be dangerous not knowing you are connected.

You are so wrong
Your article says a wm6 upgrade for the mda is available. That is not correct. The upgrade available for the mda is just the wm5 with MSFP.

Hmmm?
I gotta play around with it, but one of the reasons I needed to upgrade was because I wanted to be able to read PDFs on my phone. There is improvement, but it could still be better (it's still slow, but not compared to ClearVue's product...I could not deal with PDF reading on that one whatsoever).

It definitely feels like a different phone already. Proceed with caution.

No one says what is lost
I did the upgrade and lost most of the profiles. For example there is no longer a headset profile. It also defaults to automatic profile everytime I turn the phone off. It does not retain my ringtones either, I have to reset all of that everytime it reboots, which is everyday. Very annoying. Tmobile even sent me a new phone thinking this was a problem with the phone not the software. well lo and behold, upgraded the new phone and same problems exist. I am not happy.

Downgrades with upgrade
Now I have upgraded Dash to version 6 of windows mobile I have lost voice speed dial option of version 5. Also media player in full screen mode is playing movies sideways. I have not seen any option to reverse that. Otherwise it is a necessary upgrade.
