A number of sites are reporting that Opera has inked a deal to bundle its wireless browser with Palm's mobile devices. The browser is supposed to be based on the Opera 9 rendering engine. It isn’t clear whether the deal covers Palm's future Palm OS (Garnet) or Windows Mobile Treos, or both. Palm latest edition of its Blazer browser is based on the Netfront browser from ACCESS, the company that bought the company, PalmSource, that develops the Garnet.
Today, Palm OS device users can leverage the free Opera Mini edition of Opera's browser, as long as they download and install the Java VM engine from the company. While this version of the Opera browser can be used on Windows Mobile Palm products as well, a full-on Pocket PC version is for $29.
