Nokia Smartphones Finally in Sync with Mac

By James Alan Miller
April 20, 2007

Getting a Nokia smartphone to synchronize with a Mac is often a chore, as these Symbian-run S60 devices have tended not to communicate very well with Apple's iSync software. Nokia this week finally released a series of free iSync plug-ins that promise to remedy this situation.

With the new plug-ins, already shipping with some newer models, users can successfully sync their smartphones Calendar and Contacts information with a Mac OS X computer.

Here’s what Nokia has to say:

Get organized with iSync. If you've got a compatible Nokia phone and a Mac, iSync helps you synchronize your data. Take the hassle out of managing data across devices by downloading changes and updating your phone or Mac when required. And there's no need to download anything extra as iSync compatibility is included in many Nokia phones.

Go here to find out if your smartphone already includes the plug-in. If not, you’ll be able to download it from there as well. There are also directions on how to install the plug-in and start synchronizing with your Mac.
