Apple iPhone, Remote Control?

Apple recently filed for a patent for technology that would enable a "mobile phone" to control a Mac and the application there-in, especially iTunes.

Accordingly, the solution would leverage a wireless Bluetooth connection between phone and computer to control "popular programs such as iTunes media management program from Apple Computer, Inc. For example, in controlling iTunes media management program using this solution, the user can use the directional controls on the mobile phone to change listing volume, skip forward and backward, play/pause, etc.“

The patent application is almost certainly referring to the iPhone, at least indirectly.

Apple's iPod/phone/Internet device is scheduled to be released in June for AT&T/Cingular's network. A 4 GB edition of the iPhone is slated to cost $499 with a 2-year contract, while an 8 GB model will sell for $100 more.
