By James Alan Miller
Most of us are content to be able to read PDF (Portable Document Format) files on our Windows Mobile PDA or smartphone. For those who've been jonesing to actually create PDFs on their Microsoft-based device, there's a new application from Rain Effect called FluidPDF that'll allow you to do just that.
Available for Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PCs and Smartphones, FluidPDF enables users to scale, stretch, set dpi, and rotate images; compose, set font, set font size, and rotate text; embed voice notes with captions; embed file attachments with captions; secure a PDF document through encryption; and, according to the company, save storage and wireless data transfer costs because of the size efficiency of PDF. There's one caveat, however: FluidPDF require .net compact framework 2. While this is native to the new Windows Mobile 6 platform, you'll have to download and install it for Windows Mobile 5 devices. Rain Effect lists FluidPDF for $34.99, but has it on sale now for $19.99. Related Links:
