Sync Palm PDA or Smartphone to Intel or Power PC Mac

Mark/Space The Missing Sync serves as the the missing link between Palm OS devices and Apple desktops and laptops, providing far more comprehensive Mac support than PalmSource does even. The company today released the latest - Universal - edition of the software. What that means is version 5.1 can sync Palm OS PDAs and smartphones with Mac OS X running natively on both Intel and Power PC processor-run computers.

The software replaces Apple's iSync Palm Conduit and synchronizes all the fields on the latest Palm OS devices—even those that iSync misses, such as work address, IM address, birthday, calendar categories and more—to the latest Apple computers, including the iMac Intel Core Duo and MacBook Pro.

"Native Intel processor support is the latest in a series of Apple technologies, including Sync Services and Spotlight integration, that we have built into The Missing Sync for Palm OS," explained Mark/Space president & CEO Brian Hall at the time of the product's introduction back in January.

According to Mark/Space, The Missing Sync for Palm OS 5.1 improves syncing with Address Book and iCal in Mac OS X 10.4 over 5.0, and adds iPhoto, iTunes and document synchronization, Wi-Fi sync, intuitive conduit management, desktop mounting of memory cards and other features not available with PalmSource's HotSync Manager.

Mark/Space says Mac-to-Palm OS developers can also leverage The Missing Sync framework to create future-compatible Palm/Mac conduits for their applications.

The update is free to version 5.0 users, but costs $39.95 as a new download and $49.95 on CD.
