By James Alan Miller
The company has now upgraded the Windows Mobile edition of the application to version 3.0 With The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 3.0 users can synchronize contacts, calendars, tasks and (now) notes between Pocket PCs and Smartphones like HP iPAQs, the HTC TyTN, Motorola Q, Palm Treo 700w/wx, T-Mobile Dash and many other devices with Mac OS X. New features include the ability to synchronize notes and voice memos, Word and Excel documents, Safari bookmarks, iPhoto albums and iTunes playlists. Note synchronization occurs between a handheld and Mark/Space's new Notebook application, which allows users to categorize and search notes with and without pictures and even voice memos, or Microsoft Entourage. User can also sync with Bare Bones Software's Yojimbo personal information organizer. Setup folders and files to keep in sync between a Mac and mobile device. So, for example, you can edit Word and Excel files on either a Mac or Pocket PC and have them automatically synchronized. Plugins allows you to select iPhoto albums on a Mac and have them resized for optimal viewing on your handheld, according to Mark/Space. Also, import photos taken with a camera-enabled Windows Mobile device directly into an iPhoto album or a folder on a Mac. While you can sync iTunes playlists to your Windows Mobile handheld, these devices can't play protected AAC audio files, such as those purchased from the iTunes Music Store. They'll play synced podcasts and unprotected music, however. Additional enhancements synchronize more contact fields than before on Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 3.0 sells for $39.95 as a download or $49.95 on CD. Upgrade from earlier versions for $19.95. Related Links:
