DataViz ActiveSyncs Nokia Communicators

DataViz has launched its mobile ActiveSync client, RoadSync, and mobile Office suite, Documents To Go, for the Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 communicators. These devices run on the Symbian operating system with the Series 80 interface.

The company's applications already support devices (including Sony Ericsson's P800 and P900 series smartphones) built on the Symbian platform with the UIQ interface. They’re best known, however, for offering the most popular mobile office product for the Palm OS.

Based on the Exchange ActiveSync protocol licensed from Microsoft, RoadSync provides secure, wireless and direct synchronization with Exchange Server 2003, extending the existing mobile benefits of Exchange Server 2003 to non-Microsoft devices.

Documents To Go for Series 80 will provide owners of Nokia 9300 smartphone and Nokia 9500 Communicator with the ability to open, view and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files. DataViz' InTact Technology is included to ensure complete original document integrity is maintained when Microsoft Office files are edited by users on the smartphone.

RoadSync for Series 80 is available now, while Documents To Go for Series 80 won't ship until next month for an as-of-yet undisclosed price.
