The P800 is a Symbian OS flip phone with service support from Cingular. It has a 4,096 color and 208 x 320 pixel touchscreen display and weighs 5.6 ounces. It includes 12MB of RAM, a built-in camera and GSM/GPRS support. Opera, based in Oslo, Norway, said that its browser reformats Web pages made for the desktop displays to fit on smaller screens, eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling. Sony Ericsson said the Opera browser provides support for non-standard Street HTML, JavaScript and frames on the P800. The companies said that the Opera browser can be downloaded for free from the Sony Ericsson Web site beginning Monday. In a separate announcement Tuesday, Sony Ericsson said it would bundle animated content from messaging service provider FunMail with the P800. The content can be integrated into MMS messages.
