Sonim Technologies, a provider of IP-based Instant Communication solutions for wireless data networks, has finalized a Platinum Technology Partner agreement with Symbian, the developer of Symbian OS.

Sonim said it will work closely with Symbian to demonstrate the value of Push-To-Talk and voice messaging over GPRS networks to leading device and semiconductor manufacturers as well as global mobile carriers. "Sonim is looking forward to the multiple benefits a relationship with Symbian brings, including accessibility to the wireless industry's top device and semiconductor manufacturers as well as the global carrier community," said Sonim CEO and president John Burns.

According to Sonim, it has developed end-to-end Instant Communication solutions that enable carriers to launch real-time voice and text services over wireless data networks. By dynamically optimizing bandwidth consumption to account for changing network types and conditions, Sonim said its solution enables voice communication over heterogeneous wireless data networks.
