F-Secure Corporation has introduced a family of security applications for the Nokia 9200 Communicator series. The product family includes three new security products: F-Secure FileCrypto, F-Secure SSH, and F-Secure Anti-Virus for Nokia 9200 Communicator Series.

F-Secure said FileCrypto is a content encryption application that provides protection against unwanted data disclosure. The company said it automatically encrypts all files before storing and decrypts the files again when they are opened, without any need for user intervention.

F-Secure SSH is designed to provide secure Internet connections from the 9200 Communicator series. For example, it allows secure remote access to 3rd party applications such as email and an intranet or secure management of network servers and hosts from the device.

According to F-Secure, F-Secure Anti-Virus for Nokia 9200 Communicator Series is an antivirus application, which, together with a virus signature update service, provides fully automatic protection against viruses and harmful content in all file types. To prevent infection, all files are automatically intercepted and scanned when they are saved, copied, downloaded, synchronized or otherwise modified.

F-Secure FileCrypto for Nokia 9200 Communicator Series and F-Secure SSH for Nokia 9200 Communicator Series are available immediately through F-Secure. Both products will also be distributed through the Nokia Software Market, an online shop.

All three products are backwards compatible with the Nokia 9210 Communicator.
