Mobile Automation on Tuesday announced a tool for IT administrators to monitor security on mobile devices. The Mobile Security Manager uses the Center for Internet Security's (CIS) Windows Benchmark and Scoring tool to check for configuration problems that could compromise security. The company said that the software allows IT managers to automate security fixes and lower the risk of weaknesses in mobile systems. "Our customers have been asking for a solution that would allow them to both view their security configuration problems globally and allow them to easily fix those problems in an automated way," Mobile Automation president and CEO Douglas Neal said in a statement. "Mobile Security Manager … provides enterprise customers with an easy way to deploy, analyze and react to security configuration problems on their mobile and remote PCs."
Mobile Automation said that in addition to deploying and gathering the benchmark results, the Mobile Security Manager views overall security configuration scores from all mobile and remote PCs. It also tracks and deploys required hot fixes for all machines, including mobile systems.
